Show and tell about places in nature that were, or are, important to you. Big majestic places, or everyday places.
Who: Will
Where: Suburban Maryland, near Washington D.C.
Why: Growing up in suburban Maryland, there were several acres of woods nestled in between
different neighborhoods near my house. These woods were great for dramatic fall foliage, playing with big ice chunks when the creek froze in winter,
or just sitting on a log and waiting for a deer to come strolling by. This spot was also great for riding our bikes - trails snaked through the
woods from various access points (the closest for me was behind my elementary school soccer field), so we could always ride to our friends' houses
in other neighborhoods without having to venture out on the busy
arterial roads.
Unfortunately, I think these woods were paved over for townhouses
shortly after I left for college. I've found some other special places
since then, however.
