Okeefenokee Swamp Where: Okeefenokee Swamp in South Georgia Why: I am having trouble, putting into words, the wonders of the Swamp. I have been going there, for 35 years. My son, joined me when he was 9, and the first time he went with me, we saw a bald eagle swoop down and catch a fish. My son looked at me, and said Dad!!! thats a bald eagle!!! I saw the wonder in his eyes, and later, I would tell him, he had a visit from God. I have seen the Pacific, the Mississippi, the mountains, and many wonderful places. But, the Okeefenokee will always be a gift from God. I hope it will remain protected, if we were to lose it, a part of me would die.
