Peace Among the Giant Redwoods Who: Jill Where: Womens' Club Grove, CA Why: We used to call this grove the Four Fireplaces, after a Julia Morgan-designed structure. Located on the Avenue of the Giants, we often went for a picnic and were often the only people there, among the giant Redwoods. The sunlight streaming down through the high canopy, the silence of the grove, the beauty... I can't explain the peace of the place. When I go back now, as an adult, I still feel it.
